From our picturesque single vineyard, situated high up in South Australia’s premier Shiraz-growing Barossa region, we bring you the 2016 vintage of our well respected Jack Harrison Shiraz.

“Elegant aromatic layering of cassis, cherry, plum, chocolate and five spice catches your attention immediately. The palate opens with a solid bang of velvety luscious Shiraz berry fruit, and stretches out like elegant ‘vinous elastic’. The well balanced, muscular palate has a deceptive amount of well integrated tannin, submerged below layers of elegant fruit. This is a tremendous piece of winemaking work from old vine Eden Valley Shiraz! Drink now to impress your fellow Shiraz fans, and if you have the luxury of several bottles in your cellar, drink till 2036.” Jane Ferrari, March 2021.

Named after the grandson of our founders Trevor and Marilyn Harch; Jack lives and works at the vineyard as our viticulturist, and is in training to become our future winemaker. Our premium Jack Harrison Shiraz is handcrafted from our single vineyard Shiraz vines with an average age of 50yrs, to be smooth and approachable, both now and for years to come. Decanting prior to drinking will reward.

But watch this space, we believe this is destined for a gold yet!

Our 2016 harvest was a stand-out, with high quality fruit and supply returning to normal after several lesser-yielding vintages. Shaped by generally ideal ripening conditions, the 2016 vintage delivered dry heat with relief at the end of January with widespread rain. This, coupled with generous yields resulted in a juggling act, in order to capture all varietals at optimal ripeness. In Eden Valley, the quality was excellent for Riesling, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
