Here you will find unique aromatics for an Eden Cabernet; mocha, black cherry, white chocolate and only delicate leafiness. Showing colours like lush kalamata olives, this is a dark and broody Cabernet upon release. Vibrant flavours of ripe dark fruits are in charge here; blackberry and blackcurrant, with texture to match, settling into gentle white chocolate, raspberry and liquorice appearing in cameo. Gripping cocoa infused tannins and tight acid all add to the complexity required to make our Cabernet style perfectly calibrated.
Our cool climate Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is as remarkable as is it rare. Years ago, there seemed to be plenty of Cabernet vines growing in Eden Valley, yet fewer remain today. We enjoy Cabernet as much as you do, feeling the need to uphold the local folklore of this noble variety. Our Cabernet Sauvignon is named after our eldest Granddaughter Bronte. Basket pressed and matured gracefully in French oak hogsheads for 12 months before bottling, our Cabernet style is created to be enjoyed on any day with a “y” in it.

“This is beautifully styled and fruited, showing blackcurrant, spiced cherry, green olive and roasted nut aromas. The concentrated palate delivers juicy flavours with fine texture and polished tannins, making it sturdy and harmonious at the same time. At its best now to 2030. ~April 2022~

“Miss Bronte Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 doesn’t disappoint. A savoury element to the aromas, with leather and graphite alongside a smoky ripe mulberry, cassis and mint. Still young – powerful and muscular. All ripe fruit upfront and with a solid tannin grip in the middle. A nice prickle of green herbs – nettle, chamomile and that eucalypt note again. The finish on the wine is strong, elongated and sweetening.”
2017 Vintage – Barossa
Barossa experienced a wetter than average 2016 winter and spring. This, combined with below average temperatures in December, January and February, resulted in a later harvest than we’d seen in many years – about four weeks later than in recent years, which is relatively ‘back to normal’. With the good soil moisture and cooler temperatures, the vines were very healthy at vintage time, and the later harvest date meant the grapes ripened more slowly, enabling consistent fruit development and a gradual accumulation of sugars and flavours, which is exactly what winemakers are looking for to produce high quality wines.
Eden Valley’s 2017 vintage produced a lovely big crop for us and some quite outstanding red varieties.
