Enjoy a journey of three Jack Harrison Shiraz gold-medal vintages from our Eden Valley single vineyard, showcasing 2013, 2016 and 2018.

This wine is named after grandson Jack who resides at the vineyard and is our stellar property manager and viticulturalist – managing the vineyard to the highest standards, to ensure we produce the best possible fruit each vintage. Jack is also our future winemaker-in-training. This premium Shiraz is made from our own cool climate Eden Valley single vineyard Shiraz grapes, from vines which now boast an average age of around 60 years.

2013 | From our picturesque vineyard nestled into the back of Mt Mackenzie, we bring you the 2013 vintage of our well respected Jack Harrison Shiraz. Signs of greatness begin with deep blackish red colours and a bright crimson hue giving evidence of our wine making dedication. Lifted aromas of rich plums, cassis and black cherry are backed by French oak finesse. A rewarding palate of luscious weighted ripe black fruits, hints of olive and five spice continue to unfold with savoury notes leading into seriously succulent tannins.

2016 | In 2016 our growing conditions in Eden Valley were highlighted by above average annual rain, a cooler spring and an early start to summer that lead to slower growth and excellent vine health. As always, Jack Harrison stamps its arrival clearly with familiar ruby red depth of colour, evolving rich bramble, red currant aromas and selected oak accents. Tightly structured on first pour, time in the glass soon grants access to unmistakable deep flavours of ripe plum, blackberry, vanilla and mocha complemented by white peppered savoury tannins. Attaining the much sought-after balance of weighted texture and soft acidity on the palate, it sets the scene for at least a decade of beneficial cellar development.

2018 | The colour of our 2018 Jack Harrison is the first indication of something special… inky black depths with bright purple edges. The nose is a concentrated combination of darker cherry fruit, French oak spice and the characteristic cassis/star anise top notes. The palate is a massive mouthful of chewy black juicy fruit, wrapped around a weighty oak core, with an extended length that promises to develop into something of significant power and elegance.
