Rod Properjohn: score 18 ½

The super-premium wine of the stable is a turbo-charged dark shiraz with rich concentrated fruit, oak and tannins. Although powerful, it comes together with a silky texture and great balance over its extended palate length. An aged rib-eye beef steak would be in order with this.[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”2012 William Frederick Shiraz – 2 x Double Gold (SOLD OUT)”][vc_column_text]Double Gold Medal – 2017 San Francisco International Wine Competition (Class: 231 Syrah)

5 out of 5 stars from wine enthusiast Bruce: “The William Frederick is better than Grange I say and I have enjoyed many of both Grange and William Frederick. A most beautiful deep rich berry Shiraz with a lovely long finish to really enjoy those special occasions. You will not be disappointed.”

Mike Bennie (Wine Business Mag): 93 points

From a single Eden Valley Vineyard. Spends 18 months in oak then two years in bottle before release. Power and mellowness hand in hand. Black current and inky plum fruit character with smooth nougat tinged oak lending a hand. Drips from the palate with richness, finishes with sinewy tannins”.

Rod Properjohn (WA): score 17 ½  /20

There’s a youthful mauve appearance in this premium red and it is fathoms deep with pepper and anise. Medium weighted and advertising the strength of a great Barossa vintage, the wine stretches long in the mouth with blueberry, plum and supporting oak to a dry acid finish. Try with a flash-fried loin of kangaroo.

Every time I have a wine event I also put out more expensive, well known brands and each time everyone keeps coming back for a glass of the Jack Harrison. Full bodied, silky, this is the perfect red wine to pair with food, but incredibly drinkable on its own. I have a hard time ageing them because they drink so well now! If you ever have a friend that says they don’t drink red wine….give them a glass of this and watch them convert.”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover aesthetic169: “Wonderful and smooth. Mine are not going to age at all, too good to drink now! Looking forward to seeing the next delivery arrive any day now …… party, party!”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Mark: “JACK will be back in MY Rack! I don’t believe I have a ‘refined’ wine palate – I like a slightly heavier, dark, full bodied & rounded mouthful of Shiraz flavour. I know what I like … and Jack will OWN a place in my Rack! (Just next to the Zip Line!)”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Bruce: “Wow the Jack Harrison is an excellent value top quality Shiraz with beautiful plum and cherry aromas with a touch of spice. We just love drinking Jack!”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Frank: “This is our pick of wine for all special occasions. This is nothing less than fantastic. The fruit, the savoury, and as smooth as silk. The bottle just disappears in no time. 5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Pete: “I’d have to say that is is my favourite Shiraz. I enjoy this most nights with dinner, every time I take that first sip it reminds me of my recent experience and tour of the Brockenchack Estate. Big thanks to Trevor and Marilyn for their hospitality and for the ride on the zip line that this fantastic drop is named after. Almost too good to share.”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Brendan: “The Zip Line is sublime, so easy to enjoy and very affordable. ”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Frank: “This is one of our favourites. Some berry and fruit, Some spice and a nice finish. If you’re not sure what to grab out to drink – try this – you won’t be disappointed. Great every time. Everybody should have some of this in the cellar.”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Nick: “Love this wine.”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Michael: “This red is an absolute cracker. Wins hands down as a well rounded, full bodied wine. It’s well priced and ahead in quality when compared to others in this price range. I drove from Adelaide to Brockenchack winery just to pick up a case. Well worth the trip! You can’t go wrong.”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Dave: “I’ve been drinking this red for the last few years. Love this wine. Very easy on the palate. Always find a few in the Vintec.”

5 out of 5 stars by wine lover Mark: “This Shiraz is wonderful. It is our “end of the day wine” and we enjoy Zip Line with most of our evening meals and always have a dozen bottles on the shelf. It’s so affordable, we are known to over indulge on this wine a little too often. Congratulations to the Brockenchack team.”

From 118 year old vines; this is a brilliant light green/straw colour and has a lifted citrus-blossom perfume. There is a long penetrating pure-fruited palate of lime juice, steely minerality, dryness and razor-sharp acidity and it’s absolutely perfect with battered pan-fried fillets of whiting. The price is an unbelievable $20.[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”2014 Mackenzie William 1896 Riesling – Bronze (SOLD OUT)”][vc_column_text]Bronze Medal – 2014 Barossa Wine Show, Class 1[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”2015 Mackenzie William 1896 Riesling – Silver (SOLD OUT)”][vc_column_text]Silver Medal – 2015 Perth Royal Wine Show, Class 10

Review out of the The Adelaide Advertiser in July 2015:

There’s always a great deal of interest in how the new vintage Rieslings express their range of florals and citrus flavours. Here we are immediately in pretty perfumed talc territory, white blossoms as well as well-sculpted, tight apple and lemon-like flavours – with what’s increasingly looking like a vintage-specific softer and fleshier acidity. There’s also a refreshing lemon ice-block-like feel.

Review from social media wine lovers The Wine Wankers in July 2015: A quality Eden Valley Riesling by the boutique small batch producer Brockenchack. Dry but aromatic with lovely fruit intensity driving home at the end of each sip. Would be perfect with roast pork and apple sauce. Crowd-pleasing kind of wine here, and it’s set around a sweet-fruit strawberries-and-cream feel. The perfume shows exactly that, while the palate is strawberry kissed but perks up with a zingy finish.
