Sparkling Shiraz available in NZ! Think Zip Line, with bubbles…

Our Great Scott Eden Valley Sparkling Shiraz is a uniquely Australian wine style, created with today’s tastes and life’s celebrations in mind. This is one of the rarest wines produced from the Eden Valley region of South Australia. This wine is a tribute to Scott Pollock, the late son-in-law of Trevor & Marilyn Harch, father of grandchildren Jack & Charli and husband to daughter Trudi. Scott will forever be in the hearts of the family and as this was one of Scott’s favourite wines, the family thinks of him every time they enjoy a glass!

Pouring our elegant Great Scott into your favourite glass immediately delights, with its lively coral pink crown of fine bubbles. Aromas of fresh-picked plums and cherries lead into a generous rush of apple and raspberry, carried by the soft mousse into a silky second wave of blackberry with hints of white chocolate. Our Sparkling Shiraz carries these racy flavours all the way through the fresh long finish.

Serve chilled, as you would any other sparkling wine… and enjoy!

Sparkling Shiraz is a unique wine style that all Australians can be proud of. Our Great Scott Eden Valley Sparkling Shiraz is no exception, created with today’s tastes and life’s celebrations in mind. This is one of the rarest wines produced from the Eden Valley region of South Australia.

Made under the Charmat (in tank fermentation) method, pouring our elegant Great Scott into your favourite glass immediately delights, with its lively coral pink crown of fine bubbles.

Aromas of fresh picked plums and cherries lead into a generous rush of apple and raspberry, carried by the soft mousse into a silky second wave of blackberry with hints of white chocolate.

Our Sparkling Shiraz carries these racy flavours all the way through the fresh long finish.

“Fruit forward and beautifully fragrant, the bouquet shows black/blueberry, dark cocoa, warm spice and rich floral aromas, followed by a succulent palate offering subtle sweetness and velvety texture. Approachable and immediately appealing.” ~April 2022~

“This delicious ‘spurgles’ (sparkling Shiraz) has been made as a tribute to Scott Pollock, a beloved member of the family and son-in-law to the owners, Trevor and Marilyn Harch. This was apparently a style much loved by Scott and one suspects that he would have been very happy with this wine. Made from Eden Valley fruit, sourced from a single vineyard, this is excellent value for the style. It opens with exploding pink foam before subsiding into a lovely crimson note. Hedonistic and plush, there are alluring notes of plums, ripe cherries, dark chocolate, cloves, leather, blackcurrants and red currants; ripe and full-flavoured. There is excellent length here, and balance. Normally, these have reasonable levels of sweetness but here, although there appears to be pleasing fruit sweetness, the fermentation is close to dry. It works. Has been stoppered with a crown seal – expect to see more of this. Drink to 2026.

Good balance. Great fruits and structure. Dark and brooding. If you like sparkling reds, you’ll love this.” ~Geoff Bollom~

“When I say it is only the second one of these I’ve ever tried – that isn’t something you’ll hear me say too often. The Great Scott Sparkling Shiraz, a non vintage version of the Zip Line Shiraz, made in the Charmat method, with just a little port added. Unusual but really rather good. A frothy pink in the glass, with spice and red fruit aromas bursting from the glass. Cinnamon, blueberry, rosehip and freesia. The palate is surprisingly dry – full but well-balanced, with lovely ripe cherry flavours and sweetness… but with a dryness that makes it very more-ish. I like this. The cheese for it is a 12 year old Cheddar (yes, really) which is also something I don’t get to taste every day.”
