2021 CHARLI JAYE CHARDONNAY

Best described as contemporary and sophisticated in style, our 2021 Charli Jaye Chardonnay offers a soft textural mouthfeel and a spectrum of ripe fruit flavours influenced by delicate fine French Oak.

The colour is a bright, clear, white-gold, and aromas of elegant stone fruits and fresh pears lead the way.

Its soft textural mouthfeel is filled with ripe-picked pear and pink lady apple flavours, while the classically lengthy finish is laced with natural acid and such gentle ginger spice.

“Notes of apricot, stone fruit, white peach, dairy, vibrant tropical fruits. Flavours of apricot, stone fruit, and white peach continue to shine, accompanied by a mineral, mouth-watering acidity that adds depth & complexity.”

2023 MACKENZIE WILLIAM 1896 RIESLING

Made from vines planted back in 1896, believed to be the oldest Riesling vines in Australia.

Our 2023 Mackenzie William Eden Valley Riesling brings together the much sought-after lemon and lime balance with elegant floral aromas that Eden Valley Rieslings are so well known for.

A hint of spring blossoms and a splash of ripe grapefruit juice seem to keep all that zesty lime citrus rush and minerality in superb balance. These beautiful fruit layers add such complex flavour dimensions to the long dry finish.

Our Mackenzie William Riesling is named after our eldest grandson Mack.

Made in an approachable style, to be enjoyable upon release, but will also age gracefully for a decade under the right cellaring conditions, for those who enjoy an aged Riesling.

2018 JACK HARRISON SHIRAZ

For the more discerning palate and appreciators of fine wines, we bring you our premium 2018 Jack Harrison Shiraz…

(and this is a treat because in Australia they have already rolled onto the 2020 vintage!)

The colour of the 2018 Jack Harrison is the first indication of something special… inky black depths, with bright purple edges. The nose is a concentrated combination of darker cherry fruit, French oak spice and the characteristic cassis/star anise top notes. The palate is a massive mouthful of chewy black juicy fruit, wrapped around a weighty oak core, with an extended length that promises to develop into something of significant power and elegance. Impressive!   Drink to 2033  ~Jane Ferrari~

This wine is made from vines boasting an average age of 60 years, and is named after our grandson Jack who resides at the vineyard. Jack shines in his roles as our property manager, black angus cattle farmer, viticulturist, winery & bottling plant manager and our future winemaker-in-training.

95 Points | Wine Orbit – Sam Kim

“Richly fruited and seductively fragrant, the bouquet shows blackberry, cake spice, cedar and dark chocolate characters. It’s equally satisfying in the mouth, delivering outstanding weight and richly textured mouthfeel, superbly complemented by refreshing acidity and layers of fine tannins. Sumptuous yet refined and sophisticated. At its best: now to 2033.”

95 Points | Winepilot – Angus Hughson

“I like the Brockenchack wines – honest and well made with plenty of personality and flavour, but I really loved this wine. it’s their best yet from where I sit! Bright deep crimson, it is a beautifully brooding and tightly knit Eden Valley Shiraz with a powerful aromatic core of blackberry, new leather and black olive fruits with peppery sage elements and well matched oak. Dry, fleshy and concentrated on the palate, there is an explosion of punchy fruit pastilles and liquorice while retaining its energy and freshness with moderate, fine tannins well integrated to provide a long, yet subtle finish. Superb Eden Valley Shiraz and great value.”

2021 ZIP LINE SHIRAZ

Our 2021 Zip Line Shiraz is created to be enjoyable upon release, and this year is no exception.

Seasonal conditions were favourable for Eden Valley Shiraz, creating a bright ruby-coloured wine showing ripe fruit and subtle floral aromatics.

Restrained use of oak allows the fruit to lead the way, with ripe red and black fruits happily filling the palate in an effortlessly luscious style.

The pure ripe plum and black fruits are instantly mouth-filling, with soft chocolate and vanilla notes all wrapped up in excellent tannin grip – and length for miles.

Not sure what to take to that dinner? This is the one!

“Good complexity with ripe blackberry and red plum on nose. Concentrated flavours of black fruit along with a hint of oak flavour. Structured with high acidity, soft tannins and a long finish.”

2018 HARE HUNTER PINOT NOIR

Although Pinot Noir is not typically grown in our region, we knew our cool climate vineyard could indeed produce a very special version of one of Trev’s favourite wines.

Our vineyard sits at an altitude of around 450-480m and for reference, Central Otago is around 300m.

Named after the grandsons’ favoured pastime; with each year, their skill and allure intensify – much like this wine.

“Seductively styled and complex, showing dark berry, thyme, toasted almond and earthy mushroom aromas on the nose. The elegantly weighted palate delivers silky flow and rounded mouthfeel, beautifully complemented by savoury nuances, leading to a lengthy sstructured finish.”

93 Points | WineFolio, David Walker-Bell

“A bright medium-depth ruby in the glass. Lovely nose, filled with savoury notes of mushroom, beetroot and mocha, alongside some succulent blackberry, damson, blood orange and red cherry. A youthful, balsamic, juiciness to the palate – a little lighter in tone than the nose suggests. The fruit has a bounce and pop of ripeness, which is a foil to the savoury, peaty elements and the supple, dry, tannins. A moderate acidity keeps things moving, and the rounded, silken texture enriches the back of the palate. Powerful, perfumed and well-balanced – a well made, elegant yet vibrant expression.”
