New Release!
Our 2022 Miss Bronte Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is bright ruby in colour, showing more fruit driven aromatics, with a soft perfume leaning towards sage, and light oak backdrop that starts to display leafy aromas after time in the glass.
Decanting will lift the luscious ripe black fruits and allow the savoury characters to lift in the mid palate.
Cassis and black currants may lead the charge however gentle herbs and soft cocoa start to gather along with the tide of a structured and gripping dry long finish.
Food pairing ideas include slow braised lamb shanks. Actually lamb is definitely the top pick for this wine. And dessert… how about a cherry ripe?

2022 Vintage Report
Our 2022 vintage felt quite drawn out, but funnily enough, it was not as long as the prior year. In 2021 harvest happened over nine weeks whereas this year was only six. Our 2022 vintage was set up really well with good rain through winter and spring (2021) to replenish soil moisture after a particularly dry Autumn. And despite the challenges of hailstorms in October 2021; reducing our healthy young shoots to shreds, the vineyard team pulled off an amazing feat. The fruit we did produce is a testament to the arduous work the vineyard team put in year-round, and especially off the back of the 2022 storms. At the time we thought we had lost it all. But as the skies cleared, the shoots regrew – albeit a little delayed. We didn’t experience any intense heat over summer, which didn’t assist the vines or fruit in ‘catching up’, however the wait was well worth it!
Harvest officially started on Wednesday 23rd March when we picked our Riesling for Mack’s 1896 Riesling. We were sure we would not have any Riesling as Mack’s vines were hit the hardest. Another two weeks later, our Pinot Gris -for our fan favourite On Point Pinot Grigio- was picked on a warm 24 degree Autumn day. Easter was spent recovering from picking some superb Shiraz, and under the cover of darkness we picked our Chardonnay -our last white variety- and a small parcel of Pinot Noir on ANZAC Day. We went on to pick a little Shiraz from our stunning old vines on the home block, in front of the homestead. Then fast forward to Tuesday 3 May and our fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon from our Gunyah block in front of the cellar door came in, as well as our special Grenache. This will be hot property, as while the fruit was outstanding, there isn’t a lot of it. From there it was over to Jo and Shawn to guide our beautiful fruit from the vine, to the wine you and I have come to know and love.
The team did a fantastic job of bouncing back from the challenges in late 2022. Because of the disruption to our usual quantities, for a couple of our larger production wines we had to buy in a few quality grapes from surrounding vineyards in our region to allow us to continue to deliver you great wine from the Barossa.
